Ben is the Managing Director of the Employee Benefits Division and part of the C3 ownership team. Ben grew up in San Diego, attending Nazareth School, USDHS, Mesa College and finished at USD. He and his brother Bryan started B. Wood Insurance Inc. back in 2007 and their concept was simple; to treat staff and clients like family, be industry experts, and always do right by the client. After years of being one of the top employee benefits agencies in Southern California, they have now brought that same proven concept to C3.
Ben brings with him more than 17 years in the insurance brokerage industry. His expertise lies in helping employers recruit, retain and reward key talent through customized benefit programs. Collaborating with clients of all sizes, he has become one of the region’s foremost experts in his field.
Ben knows that we are all standing on someone’s shoulders and is committed to our community and those that need a hand. The phrase “Community Before Self” was taught to Ben by his friend Malin Burnham and it has guided his steadfast work in and around San Diego’s many non-profits. Ben and his wife Julie have three children and live in Point Loma. His passions outside of work include coaching his kid’s sports teams, surfing, riding his bicycle and gardening.
