Heather Banul leads C3’s Transportation & Logistics practice and its M&A and Private Equity practice. Heather and her team build trucking insurance and logistics insurance programs for motor carriers, freight brokers, 3PLs, drayage and intermodal operators, and warehouse companies.
Heather has spent her entire career in transportation insurance, more than a quarter-century, and is a second-generation insurance professional. She knows how these businesses run, from the yard to the dispatch desk, and builds commercial auto, cargo, workers’ compensation and general liability programs around how each client operates. Her expertise includes FMCSA compliance, Carmack Amendment cargo liability and surplus lines placement.
Heather also leads C3’s M&A insurance due diligence work for private equity firms, family offices and strategic buyers. During LOI and exclusivity, she and her team review the target’s coverage, claims, contracts and change-of-control requirements, quantify the exposures that affect the deal, and build a go-forward insurance program that protects purchase price and avoids surprises after close.
Heather holds the CLCS and TRIP designations and serves on the board of the Los Angeles Transportation Club.
