As a Partner and Director of Surety at C3, Richard leads the firm’s contract and commercial surety practice. He brings more than 30 years of experience in surety program management and placement and has a proven track record of securing surety credit for national and international contractors and developers.
Before joining C3, Richard was a Principal and Director of Surety at a global insurance broker. Earlier in his career, he held underwriting positions with Arch Insurance and Westfield Companies. His industry experience spans general construction, subcontract trades, environmental, and energy development. He has underwritten and managed surety programs exceeding $750 million and has deep expertise in domestic and international placement, including reverse flow transactions.
Richard holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. He is a past president of the San Diego Surety Association and an active member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
